Candle Information

Everything we think you might want to know about our candles...

Church Candles

We've tried to think about every aspect of our luxury scented candles to ensure they give you the best experience while creating the minimum impact on the environment

Our wax base is made in Europe, and is a pure blend of coconut and rapeseed oil. No petrochemicals, and no soy (it's difficult to trace soy for candle wax, so it can't be guaranteed deforestation or GMO free). The coconut and rapeseed blend is not only the most environmentally friendly available, but also burns clean and slow, meaning you get the most out of your candle

Our fragrances are made with 100% essential oils, and we actively look for the most sustainably sourced options

Our wicks are made from a cotton and linen blend. They are coated with a thin coating of paraffin which helps them to burn. We have trialled various paraffin-free wicks, but unfortunately haven't been able to find an option that works well with our natural wax and oil blends, so this is the best option we have at the moment. In the meantime, we'll keep looking for other options!

The wicks are attached to the base of the candle with a small sticky pad- these are easily removable at the end of the candle life for recycling. We've tried various methods of securing the wick (or not securing them at all!) but we've found this to be the best solution so far

Our glass containers are made in Italy, and can be recycled alongside your household glass once clean (see FAQs)

The packaging is entirely plastic-free. We've also chosen not to include lids with our candles, as in our experience these are often not used, and are often not accepted for recycling

There are hundreds of luxury candle brands vying for your attention on the shelves- many with fancy or complex packaging, trinkets or shiny bits to catch your eye. Sustainability is a core element of our brand, so conscious decisions about packaging- both in the energy and complexity of manufacturing as well as ease of recycling at the end mean that we've foregone some of the bling. We hope our packaging reflects the premium, quality feel you expect while minimising our impact on the world around us
